I am very sorry that I am not with you for your first Chinese lessons as I am currently on business in Beijing. However, I would like you to explore this Chinese blog and discover a few things to help you to learn Chinese effectively. In my absence, please go to “BBC Chinese” under “Home Study” on the left hand side of my blog and use the site to help you to take the first few steps to learn Chinese.

Please pay special attention to the Chinese pronunciation and writing patterns. Please also watch as many videos as you can and see how much Chinese you are able to pick up from watching those short film clips. Please post your comments to this post on each lesson and also try to prepare a short speech in Chinese to introduce yourself for our first face-to face lesson.
